Tedd M. Gimber's Madison Space for Dr. H. 4/7

This is a photograph of the stage and a few of the surrounding seats inside of TDU. The stage is used for a variety of different activities many of which are musical acts, and sometimes features New and Improv’d. It is a great area that is frequently used by members of the JMU community to meet with friends, and enjoy the free entertainment on stage. I chose this area because I think it demonstrates the great environment found not only in TDU, but across the JMU campus. I am not sure if TDU was designed to be more of a lounge area, or if it was supposed to be a place where lectures would be heard. The area surrounding the stage is set up to do a bit of both. In the picture you can see one of the sofas surrounding the stage that seem to direct you attention to the stage. This would make the room seem as if it was set up for informal lectures, except for the fact that there are other chairs are facing away from the stage. In the picture you can see a few chairs looking directly away from the stage, one of which a girl looks to be doing some work at. TDU seems to be an area that will serve any function that is needed by the JMU community. I won’t remember TDU for its serious atmosphere; instead, I will remember coming to see Funny Freaking Fridays with my friends.
